Copyright & Usage Rights

Unless otherwise indicated:

• Texts, graphics, and layouts are owned by the HCIS Lab or the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt
• Logos and branding elements are protected by trademark and design rights
• Project descriptions and visuals may contain contributions from students and collaborators, used with permission

Ownership of specific research outputs (such as publications) may be governed by separate agreements with publishers and funding bodies.

Scientific publications referenced on the HCIS website are typically subject to third-party copyrights (e.g., ACM, IEEE, Springer). Therefore:

• Full texts are only hosted if they are openly licensed or the license explicitly permits it
• Otherwise, links to publisher pages or preprint versions are provided
• Citation of title, abstract, and metadata is generally permitted for informational purposes

Users remain responsible for complying with the respective publisher’s terms of use.

Images, diagrams, videos, and other media may contain:

• Protected design elements or trademarks
• Depictions of individuals (requiring separate consent)
• Licensed stock material or icons

Re-use of such assets generally requires prior written permission, unless a clear license (e.g., Creative Commons) is indicated on the material itself.

Downloading or printing content for private, non-commercial use and for academic citation is generally permitted, provided that:

• The source (HCIS / THI) is acknowledged
• Copyright notices are preserved
• No modifications that distort the original meaning are made

Any use beyond this scope requires explicit approval.
